Working party to prepare Bewerley Green for introduction of wildflowers

As part of its biodiversity policy the parish council has resolved to introduce wild flowers to a section of Bewerley Green, commencing with a small scale trial. They will install an area of eight square metres of pre-seeded 'wildflower mats'. This is in preference to planting seeds directly which, although cheaper, would take longer to produce results.

Prior to laying the mats some preparatory work is required to remove existing turf and prepare the ground for the mats. The councillors are having a working day to prepare the ground on Tuesday 30th July at 11am.

Parishioners are very welcome to come and help or just to find out more.

The mats will be layed a few days later and will then require regular watering. Any offers of help with this would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to help, please speak to councillors on the day or contact the parish clerk at clerk@bewerleyparishcouncil.gov.uk.
